BLC's Last Show

Lucas and Cam had their last Bodacious LC show a week ago. Cam and Liz moved to North Carolina to help start a church. We are very excited for them, and proud, but we're going to miss them.

(Oh, and yes, I am aware that I married a man who plays the accordion.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, Lucas' and my second Thanksgiving as a married couple was once again enjoyable and entertaining.

We started the day in Minco, OK - the land of milk and honey (and one blinking red stop light) - at Lucas' grandmother's house. She always cooks the traditional meal (you know what I mean, so I won't expound) and then we play a rousing game of Mexican Train. Now, that might sound a little politically incorrect, or that we are up around the table with our hands on each other's hips pretending to cross the border. The first statement might be correct, but actually it is MeeMaw's favorite domino game. Good times.

Next we traveled back to Edmond for dinner - non-traditional lasagna (very delicious, thanks to Summer's seceret ingredient...) - a little post-dinner Wii. Yes, Wii. My mom bought my dad a Wii for his birthday so we did that the rest of the night, as well as the next two days. Now that is a tradition worth keeping.

Oh, and mom and Mia made us Turkey Cookies. Yum.

Make it Work!

Project Runway season 4 premiered last night. Excitement consumed me. It's going to be a good season.

Christian is going to be one of my favorites already.

Merry Christmas?

So, last night as I drove home from church I missed the entrance into our complex because I wasn't expecting the trees at the entrance to be covered in red and green Christmas lights!! Seriously!? Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Christmas. But it is the first week in November and 69 degrees outside.
Then I went to Target and there was one half isle of Thanksgiving decor and half the east side of the store was glittering and oozing merriment of THE Holiday.

Okay, I really do love Christmas. I just wasn't quite ready. However, I do have all but one Christmas gift bought! I haven't done that good, well, ever! Woo hoo!

Now, for a picture of what my New Year will look like....Scotland!!!

I can't wait!

The Village of Hope

This semester the Journey Land students at MRCC have "adopted" five children of The Village of Hope to support for an entire year. After beginning to raise money only 1 1/2 weeks ago two of the grades have already made their goal! It has truly been inspiring and heart-wrenching to witness the generosity and enthusiasm that these kids have to help these children. The are continuously coming up with even more ways that they could help, and want to do everything they can.

Four of the girls had a bake sale and raised over $400 in one afternoon! Since that was such a success many of the other kids have expressed excitement to do the same. So, this Saturday at our church Fun Night the Journey Land kids are going to provide baked goods to anyone in attendance and take donations. All of the donated earnings will be used to help fix the broken water well in the Village of Hope. Otherwise their water will look like the second picture below.

I love these kids! The are awesome! If you would like to contribute in any way to the Village of Hope click on the link above.

In Love...

...with Cameron's dress! This was my favorite dress last night at the Oscars, and I want it for myself! I thought Cam looked stunning!

Overall, I was pleased with the awards:
Jennifer Hudson = Yes
Best Screenplay = Yes
Best movie = Yes, I think (I'm watching it tonight, but from everyone else's response it's a "yes"
Best Documentary = cannot believe Al Gore has an Oscar!!

This was early on in the sleet fest '07. Yesterday it was still coming. This is ALL sleet, mind you.

This is a sleet drift behind my parent's house. OKC got a record 4in. of sleet.
