Girlfriend Gift Gala

Okay, so it wasn't exactly a gala, but we did exchange gifts and eat a lot of food.
We did books this year:
(My face was hideous, so I just showed the important things.)

Good holiday fun. However my favorite part of the evening might have been when Anna thought a breast pump was something you used to pump milk directly into your baby's mouth through a tube. Sigh. Good holiday fun.

Prodigal Cousin

I hadn't seen my cousin Jay in over two years until a week ago. He came to the city for work and wanted to stop by. I was so excited! Bonus: Look how well we coordinate/blend in with the walls! That made the reunion complete.

Birthday Dreams

Well, I think Lucas had a very happy birthday last Tuesday.

We started things off with a good exam at my doctor's office. Then had a hot-and-ready pizza from LC (gotta love the convenience, at least).
Picked up the kids after school and surprised him at work with some Sonic. I think they are prime replacements for Kevin Ogle and Linda Cavenaugh:
Then dinner with family and a jam session. Lucas is now officially the proudest uncle ever.

And finally, our friends threw him a party. I don't think he knew who all was there because he was too excited about his cake.

Happy 28th Birthday, Lucas!

Last Week...

Lucas' dad turned 60:

Both of these pictures crack me up because even though Jimmy doesn't really need a wheelchair, these pictures would suggest otherwise. We had a family party for him, then the church in Minco threw him a surprise party after church last Sunday.

My friend Melissa Cox had her baby shower in Tulsa. We have been friends since we were 13 after meeting at church camp. She is having a little girl in January:

Check out our black/white coordination. Fabulous.

Let's Review

Thursday:

Dinner with college friends, Beth, Katy, Anna, and April (she had already left). Keep April McGee and their team in your prayers as they leave for Brazil tomorrow.

Friday:

We took dinner to our good friends, Jay, Olivia and Benjamin Evans.

Then we went to the Wishing Well art show fundraiser at OC.

Saturday:

We spent the day at OC's homecoming events:

- Lunch in Lawson Commons

- Women's/Men's basketball games

- Homecoming musical: Guys and Dolls

Mia was in the homecoming court this year. Now she can live a happy life. She had her entourage in tow, as well, and we were happy to do it.

and my dad and EQ sang the national anthem

Sunday:

Lucas and I both had the stomach bug that has been going around.

Overall, a fun and eventful weekend!

He's really in there!

Not that I doubted it...really...but after our ultrasound on Monday it became much more real. Henson was moving around and opening his mouth a lot. It was so wonderful and relieving to see that! Our tech was so nice to accommodate all of our family (My parents, Lucas' parents, Summer and Jamie).

After requests from Lailah and my cousins here I am at 18 weeks:
Anna and Chris are staying with us for a couple weeks until they can move in to their apartment (Anna and I roomed together for 5 years in college and 1 year after - we are determined to continue to find a way.) Monday night they brought home sparkling grape juice and these cups that Anna decorated for us to celebrate Henson.

Yeah, I Added It

I have been debating whether or not to add that little counter to my blog, but not that the baby actually looks like a baby (being 17 weeks along)...I decided I couldn't help myself.

I felt the baby for the first time last night! Twice! And Lucas did too! That is the coolest thing!

We find out a week from today what we are having, and I can't wait!

Happy Birthday, Mia!

Today is the birthday of my favorite little girl in the world - my niece, Mia. I can't believe she's 4! (Look here to see how her day has been.)

I love, love, LOVE being an aunt to this precious, hilarious show-stopper. Knowing how much I love her makes it hard to imagine how much I will love my own child, but I can't wait for Mia to have a little cousin. (I blame the hormones for the sappiness.)

I also can't wait for Summer to finally be an Aunt! She is going to realize the joys of spoiling, playing with, and then getting to send home a kid.

Happy Birthday, Mia!

As Close to Greece As We're Going To Get

Anna offered to come cook for us this weekend, so I had to oblige her. She and Chris came over for an evening of fabulous Greek food, Wii and overdue hang out time.SO delicious!
I could definitely get used to a personal chef. Anna...??

She's back, I'm Happy!

My best friend, Anna, came home last night from her two year mission in England with the HIM program. I'm so proud of everything she and Chris did for the people over there, but I am SO glad to have her back!
