Calling All Accordian Players!

Lucas is auditioning accordian-playing bandmates. As you can see, age does not matter.

I'm A Rock Star

We went over to Ryan and Amy's to play Rock Band for the first time the other night. It was so fun! The makers of this are just creating more talent-deprived people to audition for American Idol. I'm auditioning on drums next season.

New Family Addition

This week Lucas and I welcomed two new additions to our family:

1. This capiz chandelier from West Elm that I have been lusting over for two years. It now glows gloriously over my dining table.

2. This super cool fan (get it? I'm hilarious.) that now resides in the living room. It makes me feel like I live in the future.
Lucas installed both of these pretty much by himself. I was the encourager in the process. If you know Lucas, you know what a great accomplishment this was. Here is the proof:

Just to recap,

Before: After:

Before: After: We just wanted to give a warm welcome to these new family members.

Premature Fountain of Youth

I know that I will appreciate when I get older, but I am 26!!! 2-6. 2 and 6 =26.
I have had 8 people - from the ages of 12 to 61 - ask me if I am going to college next year, when I graduate from college, card me (every time) at the movies, and asking me "So, how old are you, exactly?".
Again, if I were in my mid-forties or older I would hug you for saying that. But I'm not. *Sigh* I guess this is my cue to stop shopping at Forever21.

Okay, I'm good now. Thank you, and goodnight.

"Ask the Wedding Coordinator."

That sounds like a FAQ section of the local paper. Maybe I'll look into that.

Actually, that is what I hear continuously in my line of work. (In case you missed what that work is, I'm a wedding coordinator.) I love, love, LOVE my job. It makes me happy. I get to help make sure that one of the most special days of a couple's life goes as smoothly as possible.

My sister-in-law's wedding was this past weekend, and I spent half of last week in the land of milk and honey - Minco, OK. I love the city, but I also love going to a small town, and the "down home" feeling and comradeship that envelopes that town.

I have to admit, I love being in charge. Well, I mostly like that I have something that I'm good at and where I feel needed. This past weekend I was not only the wedding coordinator, but I was also a bridesmaid. Now THAT is quite the list of duties. Beginning Thursday morning picking up the wedding dress, veil and ice sculpture until Sunday evening packing up push pins, fabric and tables - I only stopped to sleep, and even then my brain was still jotting down additional tasks and reminders to wake me up to. I LOVED it! I was so happy to be able to do that for my family, and I think everything went famously!

Pictures to come...

My Worst Enemy

I think my allergies have won the war. Just kill me now.
