Meet The Classmates

Friday we went to Lucas's 10 year high school reunion. When I imagined meeting the people he went to high school with for the first time I would not have intended for the first impression to include me drenched in sweat with a post preggo body. But, hey, what can ya do. At least everyone else was sweaty since the meal was outside in 101 degree weather. Nice.

We did have a good time, though. Especially with this guy who is training to be a WWE wrestler. Don't be too jealous that I got to witness this in person.

Nothing Fancy

I don't have a real topic, just some pics to post from the past week. Here we go....

The wedding I did on Saturday - so pretty! :

Father's Day:

Olivia's birthday cookout (which was actually a cookout/eat in since we would have melted outside):

An Early Start

Not only does Henson look exactly like his dad, but now he wants to work where he works.
I surprised Lucas and took Henson up to Channel 4 yesterday so he could show him off. He was a big hit. He loved it too! He was talking and laughing for everyone. He made several new friends.

Ummm, Excuse Me...Back That Mobile Train Up!

So, Henson rolled over yesterday. ROLLED OVER! I put him on his stomach to play, he did, then he started getting frustrated and just flipped himself over! Honestly, I wasn't too shocked. He has been rolling to his side from his back since he was a week old. Lately he has been getting his leg all the way over and really trying to get from his back to his tummy and getting mad when he can't get it.
So the past week he has not been sleeping as well during the day. He has been stopped up some, but he would cry out with his eyes closed and would be real fidgety. I have also found him in some weird positions when I go to get him up.
Well, this morning he woke up crying (when I usually have to wake him to eat) and I found him on his stomach! WHAT IN THE WORLD! I did not think we would be having to go through this for another several weeks. I realized that this past week he had probably been trying to roll himself over in his sleep then waking himself up do it. Good grief. we go....

Side note - I found him like this the other day:

10 Years Later...

...most of the people in my high school class still look and act the same. I found that out this past weekend at my 10 year reunion. Weird. 10 years seems longer to talk about than it feels. A lot has happened, but it went by so fast! It was fun to see everyone, though. I missed half of it because I was working, but Lucas, Henson and I made our appearance at the later half.
These are two of my very best friends from high school:

10 weeks

Henson is already 10 weeks! How could you not love this face?
He puts his fists up by his face like this when he gets excited. It reminds me of the Target lady from SNL - "Approved!"

Caught Tiny Handed

Clever title, eh? I know, I just couldn't help myself.

Anyway.... the little man is growing up way too quickly for me! For the past few days he has really been trying to grab at things sitting in front of him. He has gotten so close - usually getting it then immediately dropping it. Yesterday he grabbed this spoon and held on! I got so excited I think I freaked him out.
Maybe being around his big cousins drives him to hurry up and join in. He loves Aunt Summer and Uncle Andy's house!

We survived the first semi-road trip with Henson this weekend. We drove to Ardmore for my cousin Daniel's wedding. We left the city at 2pm so that we would have time to stop so I could feed Henson. We stopped, we ate, he ate...then he exploded. Well, the diaper did. He had the worst blow-out ever! He was already in his cute little GAP outfit and totally ruined the pants. It took me 15 minutes to clean him up in the Braum's bathroom. Oh, and they didn't have a changing table, so he was on the sink. Where everyone was washing their hands. Fun. Fun for everyone.

So, we were running behind by this time, but I couldn't bring him to the wedding pantless. So we ran to the Wal-Mart of this dinky town and I'm pretty sure I bought girls jean shorts. They had NO baby boys clothes except rompers! Seriously people.

We pulled in to the wedding right at 5pm. It was such a gorgeous wedding and reception. Henson made it almost all the way through the reception before he hit bottom. We got home at midnight with only 5 minutes of crying in the car. Success!
Now for some pics:

Eh, Good Enough

These are the products from an attempted cute photo of the boy cousins. We'll keep working on it...

At least their outfits coordinate.

True Story

My sister-in-law, Jamie, sent me this email today:

There’s a lady I deal with at work who told me the following story about her sister yesterday.

Her sister and brother-in-law had made a trip to Kohls’ a couple of days ago. As they were driving home, they saw a dead cat on the side of the road. Her sister is a huge animal lover and couldn’t just leave the dead cat lying there, so they decided to pick it up and take it home to bury. They emptied out one of the Kohl’s bags and put the cat inside it and put it in the trunk of their car. They had planned on eating while they were out, so they stopped at a McAlister’s Deli. Since it was hot outside, they didn’t want to leave a dead cat in the trunk, as it might start to smell. So, they pulled the bag out and just set it on the top of the trunk while they went inside to eat. As they were eating, they noticed a woman in the parking lot eyeing the Kohl’s sack. She kept looking at it and looking around before finally picking it up. She proceeded to go inside the restaurant. The couple waited to see what she would do. She went to the counter but instead of turning in the sack, she placed her order. Finally, she went to sit down, looked inside the sack, screamed and fainted. McAlister’s then called 911 who came to pick up the unconscious woman. They placed her on a gurney with her purse next to her and her Kohl’s sack sitting on top of her stomach and took her out. I can only imagine what happened when she woke up either in the ambulance or the hospital with that bag sitting on her stomach.

The couple never said a word…they were afraid at that point they would get sued.

Let's Kick It

Last night was a great way to start off the summer - a pool party at the Branch's. Perfect weather, pizza, swimming, friends, and snickerdoodles (my fav).
