UPDATE: So, this was a scheduled post since I wasn't going to be around today. YESTERDAY Henson started crawling AND pulling up. BOTH in the same day!!! That must be what he has been working so hard on in his crib when he only takes 45 minute naps.

Just not exhausting...

*These were taken on Wednesday. Since then H can actually move one hand out and scoot both legs forward. Then he falls. Then he gets mad. Then I laugh (to myself - I'm not that cruel.).

I just can't tell you how proud I am of the fact that I wear a t-shirt and yoga pants 90% of my days now. Or that if I do take a shower I let my hair air dry then put it right back in a ponytail. Or how I am really getting my money's worth out of all my makeup since I wear it only for church and meetings these days.

Well, thank you 50 year old McDonald's drive-thru, money-taker lady for driving the pride on home yesterday.
(Note: The fact that I went to McDonalds, period, much less just to get the Monopoly game pieces, therefor ordering things I wouldn't have ever ordered otherwise, will not be acknowledged in this post.)

MDTMTL (McDonald's Drive-Thru, Money-Taker Lady): "Is that you that smells so good?"
Me: "Probably not."
MDTMTL: (looks me over) "Are you a stay-at-home mom?"
Me: "Yes."
MDTMTL: "Yeah, babies don't care what you smell like."
Me: "Yeah."
MDTMTL: "Or if you wear make up. Don't worry, it gets better."
Me: "Okay, thanks by-eeeee." (flooring it to the next window)

Yes, maybe you could say I have let myself go since growing a child, giving birth via emergency c-section after a 12 hour labor to a child, and caring for said child every day since.
But you know I am proud of that child and myself for just surviving each day, made up like a beauty queen or not (likely not - SEE 1st paragraph). So, take that, MDTMTL!

(Note: I have nothing against McDonald's employees in general, but next time I go to that ladies window - likely tomorrow, I'm sure - I will have my hair teased and curled and some fake eyelashes and red lipstick on. Let's see what she has to say THEN! ....)

(ANOTHER Note: I DID have this waiting on my doorstep today when I got home. Totally redeemed my day. SEE previous post.)

Diaper Deal

Anyone out there use diapers? Okay, bad way to phrase that...unless you do, of course.
Do you buy diapers for your child?
Have you ever used

It is a fabulous website where you can get great deal on tons of things with their great coupons and sales!

Right now if you use this code you can get $10 off your first diaper purchase:AUBR4988 .

If you buy Pampers use this code for $10 off :10PAMPERS .

They should work together, too. If you spend $50 or more you also get free shipping.
I ordered a mongo case of Pampers today (170 count) that ended up being only $30 plus free shipping, and it will be here tomorrow!

Woo hoo! So excited. (Is it sad when you get that excited about diapers?)

My cousin Sarah just moved to Stillwater from Kansas so my mom, Mia, Henson and I went to see them and their new house this weekend. I'm so glad they are so close to us now!
Here are the cousins together: Kelsy, Mia, Henson, and Braden.

A Shout Out and a What, What

I just wanted to say a late Happy Birthday to my mom. It was last Thursday and she is ____ years old (you know how much trouble I would get in if that blank was filled in with anything other than 30).

She is a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, and friend. Love you, mom!

With H on her birthday.

Mom and Mia planting a crate myrtle in my front yard this weekend.
(A picture was my contribution, and a little watering.)

100 Points for the Husband

If you remember THIS POST I mentioned my upcoming present from the husband. Well, this weekend I received it. 24 hours away in a hotel ALONE. Alone. EEEK! This is how it went:

First priority

Arrival at the Waterford
My room on the 6th floor with a lovely king size bed just for me.
I watched a movie then went to the hotel spa for a 1 hour massage. Came back to take a 30 min. hot bath. Then ordered this from room service:
My view from my bed while watching 5 episodes of "Say Yes To The Dress" on TLC and another movie:
After a late check-out I ordered my favorite sandwich from Nikkolette's to-go, rented another movie from Red Box, went home to eat and watch the movie, then went shopping, and ended my 24 hour vaca here:
Then these two guys came home from the grandparents house to greet me:

We finished off the day with another movie and On The Border at home. Fabulous. Thank you to my wonderful husband for an awesome gift!
Happy Birthday to ME!!

Dear Henson~

This is what MY face looked like when you decided to have The Henson Talk Show last night from 3-4:30AM. Next time you schedule that performance, could you please let me know before bedtime so that I can put my earplugs in first.
I do, however, appreciate you going back to sleep on your own and sleeping until 8. But, I prefer the uninterrupted 11-12 hour sleep thing we had going.
Thanks, Mom.

This weekend was insane, but in a fun way (??does that even make sense??). Anyway...
Thursday I took Henson to his 6 month check-up - he is doing great: 19.4 lbs, 28.25in (95%!!), sleeps great, talks constantly (which you probably know if you go to early service at church) - and I think he was cussing at the nurse after she gave him his shots. No crying, just baby cussing. It was kinda funny.
Then I shipped Henson off to have a sleep over with the cousins so we could start of "wedding weekend". Apparently being there has made him brilliant since he was already working the Rubiks Cube. Then Lucas and I headed to the rehearsal and dinner for Casey and Steven.
(The dress color scheme was a complete accident, except that being best friends does account for these things happening, even unintended, I believe.)

Friday was decorating at the church, then pedis/manis...

...then the bachelorette party (this is the only pic I will was a New York theme based on their honeymoon destination), then back to the church to finish decorating.
8:00 Saturday morning we made breakfast at Casey's house (really Anna and Lailah made it. I just ate it.)...
...the beautiful bride enjoying the breakfast...
...getting ready...
...3:50 - waiting for the ceremony to start..., sending off the happy couple...CONGRATS!!
...then we headed over to my favorite little, yet not-so-little-anymore, girl's 5th birthday party.

Henson had quite the fun weekend himself. Most of it spent away from home with the cousins and grandparents. He was quite the party animal Saturday, though. Loved every minute of the 200 4-5 year olds running around. I could barely keep him up past 6pm last night.

Such a fun weekend!

I just can't believe that Henson turned 6 months old yesterday. Seriously? I have been so emotional about this. What is going to happen to me when he turns 1 year?!?
He goes in for his check up Thursday, but I'll go ahead and post some of his 6 month pics that I took of him yesterday.

Just When I Thought I Couldn't Love Him Any More...

....he goes and starts doing this.

For months now I have said "kiss" every time I kiss H, then Thursday at bedtime he plants one right back! I immediately teared up and was so excited! I was just hoping it wasn't a fluke, but then he proved it. Love. him.

Baby Proofing Time

For a couple weeks now H has been pushing his belly off the ground then pushing up with his toes. It's pretty funny watching his entire body turn red as he grunts with frustration from not being able to go anywhere. (I'm such a good mom.)
The past couple of days, though, he has been able to get up on his knees all by himself. Last night we tried to help him out a little.
