Everything Happens For A Reason

After a tired morning keeping up with a two year old and a 10 month old, a quick cleanup and then a relaxing afternoon with just one child to run around after.

A certain 10 month old made a big mess that required the vacuum.

While cleaning up this mess the vacuum began to smoke, filling the entire house.

The 10 month old was very interested in the smoking vacuum.

The child was removed from the vacuum vacinity so that the vacuum could be inspected by a responsible adult.

10 month old is distracted from vacuum by a Dr. Pepper can left unattended. Score!

Dark syrupy drink all over table, carpet and 10 month old.

10 month old gets first taste of caffinated, sugar liquid while vigorously licking fingers.

Vacuum inspection halts to grab child and hose down. Then ShamWow! the carpet. (Love that thing, BTW).

Give up on the vacuum and concentrate on getting the hideous smell and smoke cloud out of my house by opening all windows and turning on fans in 30 degree weather.

After no calls all day, three in the 20 minutes of this chaos. I think I was justified in ignoring those calls.

I think it seemed worse at the time when you add really, really, ridiculously tired to the list.

Anyway...I digress.

All of that was forgotten at about 2:30 when I received the call that we got free tickets to this concert with awesome seats. I love my husbands job.
Billy and Elton were amazing, of course.

I guess a brief insanity happened so that I could go to an incredible 4 hour concert. I can deal.

I Now Have Proof!

Well, I was always the one to see him do this, so I guess now YOU have proof.

He walks from Lucas Ross on Vimeo.

Please ignore my annoying mommy excitement. But I was excited. So, nevermind. Deal.

I do think we were making him a little dizzy after the second one trying to see if he would do it again.

I was bored and saw this on someone's page. This is what the computer thought Henson should look like with Lucas and I as parents.

This was our calculation Christmas of 2008:(Still scares me.)

Here is the actual product:

They're Ba-aaack

That's a romper. I cried a little in fear when I saw this at my beloved store.

Could You Just Grow Up Already? Sheesh.

I love to torture myself. Love, love, love it. That is why I took Henson in for his first haircut yesterday. At 10 months. By myself. With no kleenex. See? Torture.
Lucas has been bugging me to get it trimmed because "you know the hair over his ears has got to irritate him". I would have rather he (and Henson) just deal with it for the next 10 years. But, it was a little mullet-ish in the back too.
ANY-WAY...I took him in and he LOVED it. He thought (as usual) that he was big time stuff getting to sit in the big chair with all the girls talking to him. Katie did a great job handling me..uh, I mean him.
(I may have taken about two dozen pictures with a tear in my eye the entire time. So what.)

Ok, I have to go clean up the puddle from the keyboard now.

Baby Dedication Table 2010

I was asked to decorate the table for our church baby dedication. Here is what I came up with:

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Henson with his Grammie and Gigi at MRCC's Baby Dedication Sunday night.
H also turned 10 months this weekend, so this also doubles as his 10 month shot since he was in Minco on the actual day.

New favorites:
Stomping his feet on the ground
NO baby food, ONLY big people food
Being "strong"
"So big"
Going upside down (LOVES this)
**Putting things on and behind his head

I love this video, but not me in it. I was quite sick at the time. BUT, I just love H in it! Eyes on him only while watching.

Rewind, Stop, Now Fast Forward

A long lost camp friend posted this picture on Facebook today. I miss those days. I still keep in touch with some of these girls (ex: Mandy, right behind me).
You might remember this post about Melissa (to right of me). We have so many pictures together, but most of those were waaaaay before this fancy, smancy digital stuff. So, I don't want to take the time to scan any of them in right now. Just trust me. There's some good ones.

Anyway... we are determined that our children will be great friends. And go to church camp together someday.
