No Reason

Just some pics Summer took a while back that I just found. They capture the complete satisfaction he has of being outside. All. The. Time.

I'd Prefer No Facial Hair, Thanks

Buying meat can be scary. After hearing and seeing how the majority of chickens and cows are raised and processed to make it to the store.....I have contemplated vegetarianism (is that a word?). But I just love meat. Therefore I have been trying a little bit harder to buy the "good" kind so that my 13 month old doesn't have a handlebar mustache by the time he is 2.

Crest is where I get my beef - behind the counter, not in the bins.

Target now has free range, hormone free, antibiotic free chicken.

I feel it is worth spending just a little bit more.

Here is a good article about what packaging statements really mean.

Feel free to skip me

I have been more than lacking in the blogging that past few couple weeks. With a hint of exhaustion, and a handful of impatience, I give you a small recap of the week in picture form.
Sunday - Mother's Day - sick, and forgot to take a pic before the child got de-clothed.
Tuesday - hangin' in the crib (their choice, I promise)

Friday - BFF day

Saturday - Dara and Cora's baby shower

What is it about a little boy and a dog that is so cute?? I adore this photo. It was taken on Saturday at my cousin's little girl's 4th birthday party. Henson LOVED my cousin Angel's dog, Ruby.

I love this pic because Henson is getting pounced on by Ruby in the background. Anytime H was sitting down Ruby would come jump on his back and H thought it was hilarious.

My cousins, Sarah and Angel.

With Kelsy, the birthday girl!

He's my kid and I can say what I want to say about him.

He's cute. I mean, I just think that he just gets cuter, and cuter by the day. Then I tell myself, "Don't be 'that' mom that tells anyone who will listen just how cute their kid is." But, it's my blog and I don't feel that I'm forcing anyone to read, so.....there.

My bubs turned 13 months on Thursday, though up until today I thought he turned 13 months today. I'm so messed up this week. Anyways.....

Current obsession: Cars.

"Ca" = "car" and he says it about 487 times a day. He picks out all the cars from the plethora of toys among him every single day. If I can't find him I just listen for the "vroom" noise.

He also loves animals. Real animals, stuffed animals, animals in pictures. We started noticing his preference for his animal books around 7 months old. Now he has about 8 evident animal sounds in his repertoire. He's relatively good about performing on command for his annoying parents.

A small sampling for the grandparents, or if you are just bored:

(For some reason he refused to locate and imitate his favorite animal, the monkey. Oh well, I still think he's cute.)

Love this guy.

It May Not Seem Like It....

...but I am alive. I have been a little busy lately. But the reason I AM alive is because of these two things:
1. A husband who will dress up and do ridiculous things to make an event that you are putting together, not him, a little more fun. He may not have been reluctant to do it, but his response was still "Anything for you." I'll take it.

2. This literal life saver. I would not be breathing at all right now if it weren't for this pack of resuscitation.

Now, put the two together, and you have:
3. A husband who leaves work, goes to Walmart to get you #2 because you are barely functional for yourself much less a 13 month old who somewhat depends on you too, bring it home to you, pours a glass of orange juice to go with it, and changes the 13 month old's diaper because you couldn't smell how rank it was, then heads back to work to earn some more big bucks for you to survive on.
That is why I am alive.

Walk For Hope 2010

WALK FOR HOPE went so much better than I could have imagined. There was an outpouring of generosity from the entire Memorial Road congregation that was so humbling.

With over 670 walkers at the event, more than 50 donors, and our amazing Journey Land kids who made crafts to sell, we raised over $8,700!!!
We exceeded our goal by more than $3,500!!
Now every kid in the Joy House at the Village of Hope will be able to go to school for an entire year without worry. They will not have to think one second about whether they will be able to continue the next month and the next.

Thank you to everyone who helped us make this event such a success!

None of it could have been done without these awesome ladies! You girls are amazing!!!

On to next year, right Karyn!!
