Along with allergies, Spring brings emotional havoc

So, April is kind 'THE' month in our family: anniversary & each boy's birthday.
Therefore, this time of year brings a lot of emotion and reflection as I think back on all that has happened in our years of marriage, and thinking of our kids getting older.
Well, today it happened as I was driving home from Henson's gymnastics class. Simon called me Aubrie Ross from the back seat and I started bawling and laughing all at the same time. S looked terrified and confused, as would be an appropriate response to the current state his mother was in.

So tonight, during our nightly story time, the boys picked this book. Seriously?
Not once have I made it through that book without crying. Tonight was definitely no exception. Especially when Simon started singing the song when we were on the last page as the man holds his mom!?!
Good grief.

Exactly One Year Ago

I thought I would see what pictures were taken 1 year ago today, and this one showed up. This is one of my favorite pictures. It is framed in Simon's room-

Opportunity for Expansion

Heartbeat For Hope is excited to welcome Premec Creations to our organization!

The primary goal of Premec Creations is to reduce the degree of poverty amongst women in Gomoa-Fetteh, Ghana and its surrounding villages.  The objectives of the project are as follows:

1.     To provide groups of women with vocational training
2.     To teach these women entrepreneurship skills to enable the turn their acquired vocational skills into income-generating projects
   3.     To provide microfinance loans to women who graduate from the program

On our recent trip back to Ghana I was able to be a part of a meeting with some inspiring women who will be starting up another training center, Adwenpa Creations, in one of the villages we visited, Ayikai Doblo.

He's intentional, and I'm in for it.

I laugh at my son every single day. And not just behind his back. He has stated many times that "I just LOVE making kids, babies, people, cats, dogs, and frogs laugh".

It's confirmed. I'm raising my husband reincarnate.

22 & 23

I forgot to post at 22 months, so we're squeezing them together.

 Today - 23 months

This guy has this smushed face about 80% of the time because he is so squeezable.

He is still predominately pro-mom, and I can't say I mind at all.
This month he has really started to know when he is being funny, and has a fake laugh to go along with it. That will definitely be useful in this family.

He also has learned to open doors. His favorite doors to open are the pantry door and the refrigerator door.

He is now singing a lot. It's a repetitive cycle of 'Jingle Bells', ' Jesus Loves Me', and his fav, 'ABCs'. He wakes up every morning singing that one, and puts himself to sleep singing it, too.

Love him to pieces!
