Christmas itself was super.

We made it through Christmas Day this year without an ER visit! Woo hoo!

We had a great Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Pics to come on that topic later.

For now I'll share the next 48 hours after Christmas.

Simon wakes up Thursday morning like this:
Pitiful-looking, little guy. No other symptoms, which led to the conclusion that it was a reaction to antibiotics he had been taking for a week. Sulpher allergy. Good to know.
He actually was completely unaware of this terrifying rash until we all had been inspecting, shrieking, and prodding him for 12 hours. Then he began to get very self conscience. So, now a anger inducing, sleep depriving, steroid. Fabulous.

Saturday morning we get up to drive to Muskogee for the Lashley Family Christmas with extended family. Not 20 minutes out of town and Simon pukes all over himself and his car seat. Henson began screaming at deafening decibles at the sight, and we ended up on the side of the highway with a half naked 2-year-old and hysterical 4-year-old.
So, a quick stop to Target for an outfit and on we went.

15 hours later, Henson wakes up in with a 103 fever, coughing, aching, etc. So, a trip to after hours care in the morning to discover he has the flu.

We are on a roll!  Merry Christmas! :)

P.S. I probably don't need a warning, but don't come near our house of doom.

A few more before I have to start posting about X-mas intead

best buddies

best niece ever

Simon wanted to meet the characters until it was actually his turn. So we got to meet them while he tagged along.

Only solo meet & greet: McQueen

not a clue why Henson decided this is what he wanted a pic with...

How do you take an 8-day trip to Disney with 10 people and not go insane?

 I don't know.
Just kidding.
Very strategically. There's no sense in lying and saying everything went seamlessly. We had to be quite flexible, go with the flow, and roll with the tired 4 & 2 year old punches...
However, thanks to my brother, Andy, everything was planned out and organized for us.

Hollywood Studios

Animal Kingdom

Magic Kingdom

I can't wait to do this craziness all over again.
(and if I know my brother, I'm sure he's already planning.)

The force is with us

My son has fulfilled his 4-years-of-life goal. He is now a Jedi. I could tell you not to be intimidated, but he does have the force, so use your discretion.

Hollywood Studios has a training program that you can sign up for to learn from a 'real' Jedi and battle Vader. Pretty awesome.

So ready for training
Battle face

Each trainee gets their shot at Darth Vader.

As you can see, he's a natural.
Getting his diploma. It's official.

Oh, and we love Disney!

The boys survived their first real Lashley family vacation. We have spared them in the past because of their wee age. But as they have matured to ages 4 & 2, it was time to induct them into the family as valid Lashley travelers (i.e. non-stop, open-close, walk til your feet bleed, get your moneys worth, 'move, move, move!', boot camp vacation)

Induction Destination = DISNEY!
First plane ride

People who say they are going to Disney for their kids are lying.

Simon 'called' Mickey the morning after we flew in to let him know we were coming. He asked if he had any 'cool cars' at that place.

Opening parade at Magic Kingdom

Only day 2 of travel and the kids were already tired.

After 8 days of vacation at high speed we were all worn out. But, the kids were sad to leave and already asking when we go back, so that = success!
(Oh, and prepare now for the next 20 posts to be Disney pics)
